Review: How 'Bout Them Apples Cheek and Lip Cream

Since I finally got rid of my chapstick addiction, I can finally start using lip color. So, this sample came in one of my beauty boxes (I think it might have been Birchbox, but I am not 100% sure).

Anyways, it is easily the best lip color I've tried, and lately I've tried a lot. Now, I just got the Apple Pie color, so I can't speak for the others that come with the full palette. This color for me is the absolute perfect shade. It is almost a coral color, but a more mellow version of it. What I like about it is it acts more like a stain so no smudging and long lasting color. It really is awesome! Even though the full size is over $30 I might end up buying it I love this product so much.

LOOK HOW CUTE!

Review: Icing Makeup Palette's

Hello! I am back again. I promise at some point I'll actually get good at this!!

Today I have a couple makeup reviews, they'll be in two different entries. I might also have a personal post as well, just depends on how motivated I get.

So, first up is the Icing Makeup Palete's I purchased for my birthday yesterday.

If you didn't know Icing is the classy Claire's. It easily has become my favorite store in the mall (after Barnes and Noble). They were doing a buy one get one like 70% off deal on their makeup so I couldn't resist. (I also got a really adorable wallet).

I ended up getting two makeup palettes as my makeup purchases. I use to not use eye shadow, but recently I've gotten into it, and I like the convenience of  a palette. Obviously, being an accessory store and not a makeup store, I was skeptical of the quality. But, boy, was I pleasantly surprised.

The two palettes I got were the Nearly Nude[Bottom] and Lavender Lush [Top].

Let's talk about the Lavender Lush first. {$12.50}

This palette has very eye popping colors in mostly shades of pink and purple. It also has a few nice neutral colors as well. It has 12 colors, and they all look amazing.

Now onto the Nearly Nude palette. {$14.50}

This one has 18 colors in all. They range from the darkest black eye shadow I think I've every seen, to really pretty light colors. Some are sparkly while others are plain.

As for quality, like I said early, its fantastic. The shadow itself is extremely pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I think that is important with eye shadow, because I absolutely hate having to use a whole bunch of eye shadow for one look. Especially if I like the color, it just doesn't work.

It also is long lasting. It doesn't just dust off like a lot of powdered eyeshadow. As a matter of fact, usually I can remove eye shadow with just a dry piece of tissue, but this took makeup remover to get off.

For the price, they are amazing. Because of the sale I got them for under $20 but I think I am going to go back at some point and get their other palette, they are that good.

Now, they do contain talc, like most beauty products. I know a lot of people are allergic to it so I thought I'd mention that.

Overall, I highly recommend these for someone wanting good eye shadow on a budget.

Black Lace and Birthday Cake (OOTD)

My first outfit of the day (OOTD)! Ah sooo exciting.

So, today was one of my nephew's first birthday and I went to his little party at my sister Ava's house.

The top was from Debs (I think). Its an empire waisted shirt. The underlay has a sweetheart neckline and it has a pink and black floral lace overlay. I paired it with my new skater skirt from Forever 21. I am obsessed with this skirt btw. It can be worn high waisted or normal For this particular look I opted for the high waist. I wore just some plain black tights underneath since it was a bit chilly. The shoes are booty heels from Payless and the hat was from Fred Meyers. Since I was at a little kid party I opted for no jewelry, and I wore my hair down. If I had been wearing this outfit to school or some other gathering I probably would have wore some bracelets or maybe a ring.

My style is pretty girly with a mix of eclectic pieces like hats and sunglass. I have an obsession with shoes. I just recently ventured into heels, and these are currently my favorite pair. I've had them about a week and they are pretty comfortable and cute with just about any kind of outfit. I don't wear much makeup, and when I do its usually BB cream, mascara, and maybe some loose powder to cover up imperfections.

I am hoping to do more of these OOTD's in the future, purely for the fact that I love fashion. Its pretty funny too because up until I graduated from high school I was a T-shirt and jeans kind of girl.

Well, thats all for now my dears.

Heirs

So, I don't know if I mentioned this yet on here but I am a huge lover of Korean dramas. And I was just thinking that it would be a perfect subject to discuss on my blog.

To start off this series of posts I am going to discuss the first 4 episodes of the newly premiering show Heirs or The One Who Wants To Wear The Crown, Bear The Crown.

What attracted me to this show was hands down the cast.

I'll start off with Lee Min-ho. Let's be honest, Min-ho is gorgeous. But beyond that, I have loved his acting in everyone one of the previous dramas I've seen him in. Boys Before Flowers was the second Kdrama I watched (first being Dream High) and the first drama I saw with Min-ho in it. He played spoiled rich kid Goo Jun Pyo so well that it amazed me and I think it was watching that show that I was done for when it came to Kdramas.

And then you have Park Shin-Hye as the female lead. Seriously, Shin-Hye is a goddess when it comes to Kdramas. I went on a marathon of hers after I watched Heartstrings and ended up watch He's Beautiful and Flower Boy Next Door all in one weekend. All three characters in these dramas are so different, honestly you'd think a different actress was playing each of them. Shin-Hye is so convincing as fiery, shy, and even as a boy.

Seeing these two names, the names of my favorite actor and actress, I knew that I had to watch this show. And the line up of the minor cast is pretty amazing. Kang Min-Hyuk, Choi Jin-Hyuk, Krystal, and Kim Woo-Bin just to name a few. I saw Jin-Hyuk in Panda and Hedgehog and loved him in it. And Min-Hyuk's character in Heartstrings (not to mention I love CNBlue) is easily the most adorable and lovable character ever, and I was so excited to see him in this as well.

Now on to characters. The two leads are interesting and I am excited to see where the development goes as the show progresses.

Kim Tan for instance is so different from Min-ho's other characters. He shows a softer side way earlier on. Even in City Hunter there's an obvious edge to his character right from the get go. Kim Tan's obvious child like adoration for his brother is endearing, seriously it makes my heart melt. And I also am enjoying the fact that he is a little bit more open with his emotions than the typical male lead. Plus, his English is the cutest thing ever. I am so excited to see more about his writing maybe and to find out why his brother seems to hate him so much.

Cha Eun-Sang is a bit on the annoying side for a female lead, especially one played by the always enjoyable Shin-Hye. Her being the constant verge of tears drives me crazy! Not to mention, when someone as gorgeous as Kim Tan says he might like you, you do not walk away. Its obvious that him and his fiance don't really care for each other, so how can she just say goodbye? I did however like how Eun-Sang is with her family. She got mad at her sister and didn't just forgive her for everything. And her relationship with her mom, how close they are, it reminds me of my own relationship with my mom. I am really hoping her character becomes less wishy washy as the show progresses.

Favorite minor character? That is a tough question. Probably Hee-Nam (Eun-Sang's mother). Her character is so uniquely real compared to other parent characters. And I love that she has a very common disability. And then I love Bo-Na. Her obsessive jealous nature is actually cute and I really hope we get to see some background on her character.

Plot. So far, I am digging it. It has a little bit of everything and it seems to break the norm, at least from previous shows I've seen. They are doing it at a different pace as well, which I like. It means that we can expect more plot lines overall.

This is already a really long post, so I might just talk about specific moments in another post later on. Since I set up the characters and what not with this, I can talk about specific points as time pases.

I am pretty sure I am going to do other shows too. Not just Kdramas either, and maybe some movies and books along the way as well.

Well thats all my dears.

Changes!

I think that this amazing blog by a Youtuber I watch has inspired me a lot for my hopes for my own blog. She posts these hilarious descriptions of her designs and even gives a few insights to her life and opinions. But what impresses me the most is how personable her writing comes across. It feels like reading a personal email from your best friend rather than reading some strangers blog post. Her personality comes across so amazingly, just as well as in her and her fiances videos on Youtube. I should probably mention this is Kalel Cullen I am talking about. She is the fiance of Anthony Padilla of Smosh and they make videos on this channel http://www.youtube.com/user/WatchUsLiveAndStuff. It is easily my favorite vlog channel on Youtube. Their relationship makes me constantly laugh and I look forward to their videos more than any other channel I am subscribed to. Her blog is http://frillyandfancy.blogspot.com/ and if anyone out there is actualy viewing my blog for whatever reason, please take your time to go to hers and their Youtube channel, you will not be dissapointed.

But her topic in a post today was change, and I felt like that was a good one for me too. Its that time of year where I always start to look back at the past year and reflect on what happened and how much things are different. I am still growing up and I have had my fair share of learning experiences this year. Things are vastly different than they were this time last year, and even more different from the year before that. I have changed, my life has changed, the people around me have change, and you know what? I am so glad that it all did too. And even though I am not in the public eye like she is, I still get judged by people for the ways I've changed. Let's face it, as much as we'd like to think, nobody is perfect. This being said, there is always room for improvement.

Anywhoseits, those are my two main subjects for this entry.

I really want to try and get more consistent and start doing more posts. I am thinking I am going to start doing more fashion things on here, like outfit of the day, hair tutorials, beauty product reviews and stuff like that. And once I have my room reorganized I might even do a room tour thing because I have to be honest, I have a pretty awesome room.

Well, thats all for now my dears.

Fall and Rise

Well, Fall has arrived, and as to the name I have fallen myself it seems.

Blogging use to give such a sense of accountability and release that it was something I consistently did, and for some reason I lost that. But, I am back and I intend to be better than ever.

This means not only in blogging, but in my life again. I know my own pitfalls the last few months, but its time for a new beginning again. No more of these things that I am so ashamed of I can't even bare to type. Tomorrow is a brand new day, and I am ready to face it as such and be a brand new person again.

I have so much planned for myself for the next year, and for the purpose of accountability I figured I'd share them here.

  • Finish school. I know that seems pretty vague. But, I have three quarters (one of which is already under way) left and that is it. I am doing pretty well with my classes as it stand for the mere fact that my study habits have actually been quite good.
  • Lose more weight. I not really particular on the amount, I just know I am nowhere near where I need to be.
  • Better myself personally in other aspects as well.
I know those are so very general and broad, but I promise they are broken into dozens of little goals.

I honestly don't know what my blog is going to be any more, probably more of the same.

Cooking and Baking

So far nothing particularly exciting has happened today, well minus me catching a stomach bug but that is more so sad then exciting.

I made a really delicious lunch out of some leftovers. It was Mexican Velveeta style mac and cheese with chopped up pork and green onions. It turned out really good and I was proud of myself for creating the concoction.

I suppose I can talk about my love for cooking and baking.

So, I enjoy doing both. Creating something tasty out of random ingredients does and forever will amaze me. As for the general cooking, I am not as good nor do I take as much enjoyment out of it. But put me in front of some sugar, eggs,  flour, and butter and I see perfection waiting to happen. Its such a chemistry experiment when you are baking something. If you don't get exactly the right amount of something it completely changes the dish (which I have learned isn't always a bad thing).

Cookies are one thing in particular I love making, especially gingerbread and sugar cookies. Rolling out the dough and cutting it into shapes and experimenting with the depth of the cookies is so much fun. I prefer a crisp cookie for these particular types, so I typically cut thinner, but my family likes soft ones so if you cut a bit thicker you get that affect.

But hands down my favorite thing to make is cupcakes. I can decide to make cupcakes and wind up spending an hour looking for a promising recipe. I haven't gotten to the point where I feel comfortable enough yet to just mix stuff together and hope for the best. I love the whole process though. Like, getting out everything, and measuring stuff, scooping into cupcake liners, waiting for them to bake properly, waiting for them to cool, and frosting/decorating. All of it is so much fun. My favorite cupcakes are spice, red velvet, and pound. All three are very different and complex but also very delicious.

I truly love baking, but I don't get to do it as often as I would like.
